I think Joss Whedon needs to stop taking the easy way out and write a story with characters in a mature relationship that helps them mature instead of just ending it tragically all the time.  His tragic endings are reaching cliche.

Y’all got on this boat for different reasons, but y’all come to the same place. So now I’m asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all. Sure as I know anything, I know this - they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, ten? They’ll swing back to the belief that they can make people… better. And I do not hold to that. So no more runnin’. I aim to misbehave.

I just read about Joss and Charisma Carpenter and it makes me love Joss a lot less :(

Yeah, I had the same reaction when I found out. I lost all respect for Joss as a person. I still respect his talent and I like his shows, but I don’t like him.

And I don’t think he’s earned the title of feminist after what he did. There’s feminism in his shows, sure, but if he has that much disrespect for women that he would call a pregnant woman fat behind her back, make her feel bad about herself and make her work miserable for her, and then fire her because of her pregnancy, he can go fuck off. If that’s what feminism is nowadays, count me out. 

And honestly, I don’t think he’s as talented as he used to be either. I think he now makes a lot of stupid decisions in his work just for attention or to make money off of his old fans that he knows he can sell garbage to and they’ll eat it up. Comic books are proof of that. So I’m losing respect now for that too. 

But I love Charisma Carpenter and have full respect for her both as a person and as an actress. It’s a shame she was put through his bullshit.
